Census Galaxy Data License
This license is a legal agreement between you (the Customer) and NoFret LLC, doing business as No Fret Data (the Provider). By purchasing or downloading Census Galaxy data (the Database), you agree to the following terms:
1. Product Description
This license governs the use of a curated geographic and demographic database (the Database) provided by Census Galaxy, a product of No Fret Data.
2. Ownership
The Database and all associated rights are owned by No Fret Data.
Any intellectual property created during custom modifications remains the exclusive property of No Fret Data.
3. Permitted Use
Customers may use the Database for projects and applications benefiting their organization or those managed by their organization.
Permitted actions include:
Querying the Database for internal or public-facing applications.
Creating backups or copies of the data for organizational use.
Restrictions:
Public redistribution of the Database is prohibited without prior written consent.
License transfers to third parties require prior written approval from the Provider.
4. Free Data Usage
No Fret Data offers select free datasets under specific conditions:
Backlink Requirement:
You must include a clearly visible backlink to the appropriate Census Galaxy webpage before using the data in production.
If used internally, the backlink must appear on a publicly accessible page on your organization’s website.
Examples of applicable free datasets include ZIP Code, City, County, and Congressional GIS data.
5. Licensing for Derived Data
Some data within the Database is licensed under external agreements:
World and Canada Population Density Data: Licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 License (CIESIN).
Canada Cities Data: Licensed under Canada’s Open Government License.
Neighborhood GIS Data: Neighborhood datasets are licensed for private use only; public redistribution is prohibited.
6. Refund Policy
Refunds are available within 30 days of purchase. Requesting a refund terminates your license, and you must immediately delete the Database.
Refunds after 30 days are at the sole discretion of the Provider.
7. Limitation of Liability
The Database is provided "as is," without any warranty of fitness for a specific purpose. No Fret Data is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from its use. It is your responsibility to ensure compliance with all applicable laws.
8. Prohibited Use
Any use of the Database for unlawful activities is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate termination of your license.
By accessing or using Census Galaxy data, you confirm your agreement to these terms.
